Role Summary
ALX Africa is looking for a Senior Marketing Manager to grow enrollment in our training programs in Egypt. You will own the applicant funnel from first awareness to enrolled learner, build a brand that young Egyptians trust, and support the growth of our corporate training business. This is a hands-on leadership role: you set the strategy and you execute it, supported by your team, contractors, and agencies. The role is based in Cairo and reports to the General Manager, ALX Egypt.
Specific Responsibilities
- Marketing Strategy & Planning: Develop the marketing strategy and the enrollment plan for each program intake, covering objectives, target audiences, channel mix, budget, and calendar. Localize our global strategy to the needs and behaviour of Egyptian youth, and build a trusted collaboration with our global marketing function.
- Funnel Ownership & Growth: Own the applicant funnel from lead to enrolled learner. Improve conversion at every stage and the efficiency of acquisition, and report on performance against targets.
- Campaign Execution: Plan and run growth campaigns across digital channels yourself, then bring in contractors, freelancers, and agencies to scale what works. Find creative ways to expand our reach online (content, social media, video).
- Brand Building, Creative Direction & Content: Build a brand that young Egyptians trust. Set the creative direction for how ALX looks, sounds, and shows up in Egypt, in line with our global brand, and apply it consistently across every channel and touchpoint. Lead content and learner stories that create demand for our programs (for example learner-generated content, alumni stories, and organic social).
- Offline & Community Marketing: Build brand awareness and generate leads through in-person experiences that delight our prospects and build buzz about our programs (for example campus activations, community events, and partner events), delivered in Arabic for the local market.
- Partnerships: Identify, build, and manage partnerships with key stakeholders that amplify our brand and generate new leads (universities, youth networks, influencers, corporates).
- Corporate Training Marketing: Partner with our corporate training team to build our brand with employers and generate demand for our B2B offerings through campaigns, content, and events.
- Martech & Analytics: Own our marketing technology stack (CRM, marketing automation, analytics, ad platforms). Track and analyze key marketing metrics, draw insights to identify scalable acquisition channels, and act on them to grow the business.
- Team Leadership: Lead and develop the marketing team, and manage contractors and agencies to deliver against plan.
Skill Requirements-Essential
- 6 to 8+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in B2C marketing, with a track record of owning growth targets and delivering against them.
- A hands-on operator: proven ability to plan and run campaigns yourself across digital channels, and to lead agencies and contractors without depending on them to deliver.
- Experience working for a start-up or similar fast-paced environment, or demonstrated proactivity, resourcefulness, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, flexible, and entrepreneurial environment.
- Strong command of performance marketing, marketing technology, and analytics. Comfortable with numbers and able to make data-driven decisions.
- Experience building a brand and directing creative work (briefing designers, video, and copy) that lands with a young audience.
- Strong understanding of the 18 to 30 age bracket in Egypt. Strong knowledge of popular culture, social media and digital amplification, content and influencer marketing, demonstrated through campaigns targeting youth.
- Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills in both English and Arabic, including delivering in-person events in Arabic.
- Experience leading a team, or managing contractors and agencies, to deliver marketing outcomes.
Skill Requirements - Preferable
- Experience ideating, planning, and running branding and community events.
- Experience in marketing and recruitment for training or education programs, and/or a top FMCG company.
- Experience in B2B or corporate marketing.
- Experience identifying, building, and managing partnerships.
