The Role:

One of Banyan’s Operating Companies in Belgium have created a new role for a Commercial Director in their team  The Commercial Director will be the company's first dedicated commercial leader for one of their products— responsible for driving sales and business development function from the ground up and driving growth within the Medical sector worldwide. Reporting directly to the CEO, this person will own the entire commercial engine: new client acquisition, account expansion, tender strategy, and revenue performance. This is a builder role that will also have internal development responsibilities.. You will design and execute the commercial machine, not inherit one.

You will:

• Develop and execute a comprehensive commercial strategy aligned with Besco's growth objectives and long-term business ambitions.
• Lead revenue generation across existing and new markets, identifying opportunities for new business, upselling, cross-selling and strategic partnerships.
• Strengthen and expand relationships with hospitals, healthcare providers, insurance organisations and other key stakeholders.
• Drive international expansion, identifying and developing new markets for Besco's healthcare software solutions.
• Take ownership of the sales pipeline, forecasting, commercial performance and revenue targets, ensuring a structured and data-driven approach.
• Lead complex, consultative sales processes, engaging with senior decision-makers and navigating healthcare procurement cycles.
• Work closely with product, technical and operational teams to ensure commercial priorities align with customer requirements and market opportunities.
• Develop and optimise commercial processes, pricing strategies and go-to-market initiatives to support scalable, profitable growth.
• Act as a senior representative of Besco, building strategic relationships and increasing brand awareness across the healthcare technology sector.

Qualifications for success: 

• Proven experience in a senior commercial leadership position, such as Commercial Director, Sales Director, Head of Sales or a similar role, ideally within B2B software or SaaS.
• A strong track record of delivering revenue growth, developing commercial strategies and successfully expanding into new markets.
• Experience within healthcare technology, hospital software, medical devices or another complex, regulated B2B environment would be highly advantageous.
• Demonstrable success managing complex, consultative sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders, senior executives and procurement teams.
• Strong commercial acumen, with experience in revenue forecasting, pipeline management, pricing, contract negotiations and commercial performance.
• An entrepreneurial, hands-on leadership style, comfortable operating within a specialist, growing software business and balancing strategic direction with day-to-day execution.
• Experience developing international business opportunities, building strategic partnerships and establishing relationships across new geographical markets.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical audiences.
• A collaborative and results-oriented mindset, with the ability to work effectively alongside product, engineering and operational teams.
• Fluency in Dutch and English, with French language skills considered a strong advantage, particularly when engaging with customers across the Belgian healthcare market.
