About the Role
Join an early-stage engineering team building software that connects AI agents with real-world laboratory systems. You will own critical infrastructure for experiment orchestration, agent connectivity, and distributed coordination, helping shape a new category of software across digital and physical systems.
What You'll Do
Build systems to schedule and coordinate experiments across distributed labs.
Connect AI agents to experiments and instruments through reliable infrastructure.
Develop data systems that capture state, actions, measurements, failures, and provenance.
Design distributed systems to coordinate software, devices, and experiments reliably at scale.
Create developer tools and APIs for new workflows and integrations.
Debug and optimize across software, hardware, and physical systems.
What We're Looking For
Three or more years of experience building production-grade software systems end to end.
Strong proficiency in Python or Rust, with familiarity across Rust or TypeScript systems development.
Experience designing distributed systems, APIs, networking, and asynchronous communication patterns.
Experience as an engineer in an early-stage startup and comfort taking ownership in ambiguous environments.
Background in robotics, hardware integration, lab automation, embedded systems, AI agents, or ML infrastructure is valuable.
Ability to debug across hardware, firmware, and software layers is a plus. Biology experience is not required.
