Mission
Neko is redefining what prevention means, from treating illness when it arrives, to sustaining health before it's ever at risk. Our mission: make data-driven, preventative care accessible to more people, before symptoms appear.
In a single, non-invasive visit under an hour, proprietary technology and direct clinical care combine to deliver personalised, actionable insights. It's a team that thinks in 10x, not 10%. Every role here plays a part in building a world where prevention is the norm, and where your work genuinely helps people live longer, healthier lives.
Neko Health is changing how clinicians and operators learn, and we are hiring a designer to lead it. You will turn deep clinical expertise into learning that works, from curriculum design to virtual practice environments built with Engineering.
Reports to: Head of Medical Education and Training | Team: Medex, Medical Education | Role type: Individual contributor
About the role
Today, learning content is built in the gaps between other jobs, and the same material often exists in several versions. This role changes that. You will be the single production engine for Neko's clinical and operator learning: deciding how things are best learned, building them, and making each new asset faster to make than the last. The curriculum, the asset library and the production process are still to be created, so this is a builder role.
What you will do
Design curriculum and programs for every Neko clinical population, writing learning objectives in observable performance terms.
Build learning assets across e-learning, video, job aids and facilitator guides, modular so a protocol change updates a component rather than triggering a rebuild.
Own the asset library, including its taxonomy and when assets are retired.
Write the learning requirement for virtual practice environments and validate that what Engineering builds teaches what it should.
Design assessments, including rubrics, checklists and observation tools, that two assessors can apply consistently.
Draw expertise out of clinicians and operators, and shadow clinical teams so your designs reflect real practice.
Evaluate whether learning changed practice, using assessment and quality data rather than completion figures, and improve or retire what is not working.
Administer our learning systems and maintain an auditable training record for every clinician and operator, including the protocol version they are trained to.
Requirements
6+ years in instructional or learning design, with ownership of design decisions rather than production alone, and a portfolio of products you built.
4+ years applying adult learning and competency-based design, and explaining why a design choice serves the objective.
4+ years authoring e-learning, video and written materials with current industry tools.
3+ years designing assessment, including rubrics and observation instruments, not only knowledge checks.
3+ years working with subject matter experts to turn their knowledge into accurate, learnable content.
2+ years writing requirements for a technical team and seeing them through to a working product.
2+ years working with learning platforms and how content is packaged, delivered and tracked.
Practical, curious and quick to prototype: you would rather put a rough version in front of ten learners next week than a polished one in three months, and you build things others can maintain.
Nice to have
Experience in healthcare, medical device or another regulated environment where content is reviewed before release.
Experience designing simulation or scenario-based learning, including the debrief around it.
Experience designing for localization and accessibility in digital learning.
A qualification in instructional design, learning technology or education.
