Viral Nation is seeking a Head of Social Content Production to leverage exceptional social-native production experience in order to  architect, lead, and continuously evolve our content production ecosystem. From high-volume, creator-led TikToks and Instagram Reels to premium YouTube series and ambitious social campaigns, you’ll oversee the people, processes, partnerships, and infrastructure that enable us to create exceptional content at scale.

Working in close partnership with the minds who lead creative strategy and content development across our portfolio of leading global brands, you’ll be the operational mastermind behind bringing that creative vision to life. You will own the broader production operation that governs a team of Social Producers responsible for the day-to-day content delivery across brands, ensuring holistic success. This includes overseeing the allocation of internal resources and external resources (creators and freelancers) across brands - ensuring the right talent is deployed against the right opportunities. 

This isn’t a traditional production leadership role. We’re looking for someone who understands the social media content economy from the inside out. Someone who knows when a creator with an iPhone is the right production solution and when a fully resourced crew is necessary. Someone who doesn’t just know how to produce great content, but knows how to build an operation that produces great content at an extraordinary scale.

Responsibilities:

Lead Social-First Production at Scale

• Own the production and delivery ecosystem across Viral Nation’s portfolio of global brand partners.
• Establish scalable production models supporting everything from rapid-turnaround, lo-fi social content to premium, high-production executions.
• Oversee portfolio-wide production commitments, budgets, and delivery performance.
• Partner with the Senior Director of Social Content (as well as Directors and Assoc. Directors of Social Content) to translate creative ambition into efficient, innovative production approaches.

Own Resource Allocation & Production Capacity

• Lead the planning and allocation of internal creative and production resources across retainer and project-based client work, balancing capacity, expertise, priorities, and delivery requirements.
• Partner with Social Producers to forecast resource needs based on client content calendars, production schedules, upcoming deliverables, and anticipated production complexity.
• Maintain portfolio-wide visibility into staff utilization, resource availability, and production demand to proactively identify capacity constraints and allocation opportunities.
• Establish efficient systems for resource planning, scheduling, and workload management that maximize team productivity without compromising creative quality.
• Collaborate with creative leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to prioritize resources, resolve competing demands, and determine when external production support is required.

Build the Systems That Power Content Creation

• Architect and continuously optimize production workflows spanning briefing, resource allocation, execution, post-production, approvals, and delivery.
• Develop the tools, processes, and infrastructure that enable high-volume content production without compromising speed or quality.
• Establish efficient systems for vendor onboarding, contracting, asset management, and production administration.
• Champion AI, automation, and emerging technologies that improve production efficiency and unlock new capabilities.

Develop a World-Class Production Network

• Build and maintain a flexible network of social-native creators, freelance talent, production specialists, and external vendors.
• Establish scalable production partnerships that can be activated quickly to meet evolving client and content needs.
• Develop frameworks for determining the most effective production approach across internal resources, creators, and external partners.
• Continuously identify new talent, technologies, and production methodologies that strengthen Viral Nation’s capabilities.

Lead, Empower & Elevate the Production Team

• Directly manage and develop Social Producers responsible for operational content delivery across individual client accounts.
• Establish clear production standards, workflows, and accountability across the team.
• Oversee team performance, workload distribution, and delivery excellence across the client portfolio.
• Foster a culture of resourcefulness, creative problem-solving, agility, and continuous improvement.

Positional Requirements 

• 7+ years of experience in social-first content production, creator-led production, or content operations, including meaningful experience leading teams and scaling production capabilities.
• A career rooted in social media and the creator economy, with an instinctive understanding of major social platforms (i.e.TikTok, Instagram, YouTube), and the production requirements unique to each platform.
• Proven experience building or scaling high-volume content production operations, including the systems, workflows, and talent networks that enable efficient delivery.
• Demonstrated experience managing resource allocation (internal and freelance), capacity planning, and staff utilization across multiple concurrent clients, retainers, and projects. 
• Experience overseeing a wide range of production formats, from lo-fi creator content and always-on social programs to complex, premium productions.
• Strong leadership experience, with a demonstrated ability to manage, mentor, and develop producers and multidisciplinary production teams.
• Deep experience managing creator relationships, external production partners, resource allocation, and production budgets.
• Strong operational and systems thinking, with a track record of improving production efficiency, scalability, and delivery performance.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled production tools, automation, and emerging technologies that are reshaping how content gets made.

• Existing relationships with creators and freelance production staff across verticals.
• A personal channel, side project, or creative experiment—evidence that you make content because you love it, not just because someone's paying you.
