The Role
Our customers rely on Calendar to run their practice, and we’re making it faster, smarter, and easier to use. We’re looking for an experienced Software Engineer to take ownership of high-impact Calendar features. You’ll own multiple workstreams from first idea to production, and partner closely with Product, Design, and a team that cares about craft. This is a remote role.
Responsibilities
- Bring a builder mindset and a product-focused approach, creating solutions that are robust, scalable, and easy to use
- Own the delivery of complex, user-facing Calendar features across the full stack, from first idea to production
- Partner with Product to understand customer needs, define upcoming features, and catch problems before customers do
- Build across the full stack, with depth in languages and frameworks like Ruby on Rails and Python and ship clean and scalable code
- Look beyond the immediate change: spot opportunities to refactor or make broader improvements to the codebase, and know when to bring in partners like QA, Security, and Data
- Work through ambiguous problems and deliver high-quality solutions at pace
Desired Skills and Experience
- 3–6 years of professional full-stack engineering experience, with hands-on Ruby on Rails expertise
- A track record of independently delivering complex features to production in a customer-facing web application, and owning them after launch
- Production experience with Ember.js or React and their ecosystems, plus a willingness to pick up new frameworks and platforms
- Solid understanding of APIs, SQL, web application architecture, observability, and reliability, and good judgment in choosing the right approach
- Clear, proactive communication and collaboration skills working with remote, cross-functional teams on GitHub, Slack, Notion, and Zoom
- Hands-on fluency with AI coding tools like Cursor, Codex, and Claude Code in your daily workflow
- High agency and a growth mindset. You take ownership of quality and reliability and do well on a fast-moving team
Bonus Points
- Experience with web application security, or with PCI or HIPAA compliance
- Production troubleshooting and infrastructure: Docker, MySQL, Postgres, Redis, NGINX, AWS, Linux, Terraform/Ansible
- Along with your application, share a link to something you built using AI: a working prototype, a tool, an app, a workflow, anything real. Include a sentence or two on what you made, which AI tools you used, and what you’d do differently next time. We care less about polish than about how you think and how you build.
