About the role
You’ll be the operational, detail-first finance partner embedded in REW doing the deep-dive transactional and analytical work that the team needs to run cleanly. Reporting directly to the REW Finance Manager (Talia Young), you will own PO QA and lifecycle operations, accruals and month-end support, GL drill-throughs for Budget vs Actuals (BvA) commentary, and vendor spend visualizations. You’ll partner closely with Leasing, Workplace Ops, Design & Construction, Workplace Experience, Sourcing, and P2P — and you’ll be expected to roll up your sleeves and deliver high-quality, defensible analysis and clean data.
Core responsibilities
PO lifecycle & ZIP power-user: Validate chart of accounts, budget availability, REW PO line descriptions, start/end dates; help manage REW POs through the PO creation/change order process in ZIP.
Accruals & month-end: Assist with month end close; Identify POs that require accruals, collect/validate accrual inputs from owners, prepare accrual backup, input/maintain accrual details in the stratfin file, and reconcile reversals when invoices arrive.
GL drill-through & BvA commentary: Perform transaction-level GL investigations to find root causes of variances, compile support, and prepare concise, stakeholder-ready variance narratives.
Vendor invoice & spend visualization: Build and maintain vendor-level dashboards and quick visualizations showing spend trends, aged liabilities, and problem areas.
Data management & actualize files: Maintain and “actualize” REW files (budget skeletons, accrual trackers, PO registers), ensure data hygiene and version control.
Budget and forecast cycle support: Enhance budget and forecast templates and automate where possible. Collect and review submissions in detail.
Technology & automation: Bring a technology-first mindset — prototype small automation/AI agent solutions to reduce manual work (e.g., PO QA checks, GL reconciliation assistants).
Partnering & follow-up: Recurring operational check-ins with stakeholders as it relates to budget/forecast updates and ensuring operations running smoothly from a financial perspective.
