About the Role
As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) at Hinge Health, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our digital health platform. You’ll work closely with engineering, product, and operations teams to design, build, and maintain robust infrastructure and automation solutions that support our mission to deliver outstanding member experiences and improved health outcomes. This is a high-impact, cross-functional role where your expertise will directly influence the stability and growth of our core services, enabling Hinge Health to scale efficiently and securely.
You’ll be part of a collaborative, innovative team that values operational excellence, continuous improvement, and a culture of learning. Your work will be essential in driving the evolution of our platform, supporting rapid product development, and ensuring our systems meet the highest standards of reliability and security.
What You’ll Accomplish
Own and lead projects in your domain: turn ambiguous goals into sequenced plans, and set new projects up for success in production, including SLOs, observability, safe rollout and on-call readiness.
Design and maintain scalable, secure infrastructure in cloud environments.
Build self-service tooling and standardized workflows, for deployment, monitoring and infrastructure management.
Lead incident response, and drive post-incident reviews and RCAs that reduce MTTD/MTTR and prevent repeat incidents.
Define SLOs for the systems you own, and use them to prioritize stability work.
Collaborate with engineering and product teams on CI/CD, observability and safe launches.
Troubleshoot and resolve system performance and reliability issues.
Drive adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and config management practices.
Establish and enforce infrastructure patterns and standards for your domain (e.g., reusable modules), and surface cross-team dependencies early.
Author design docs, and influence architectural decisions with a focus on operational excellence.
Maintain a high quality bar through testing, review and low change-failure rates, and create reusable templates and reference code that speed up the team.
Lead capacity planning and disaster recovery efforts for your domain.
Track and improve key reliability and performance metrics.
Evaluate and implement tools that improve reliability and developer productivity, including AI-assisted tooling used safely. Be a go-to expert in your area, champion safe AI adoption on the team, mentor others on it, and bring new ideas to the roadmap.
Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through pairing, code review and onboarding materials, and contribute to hiring.
Enforce security best practices and compliance in design and code review across infrastructure operations.
Partner with engineering, product, security and other cross-functional teams to shape the team’s roadmap, explain technical tradeoffs, resolve technical disagreements within your team and with partner teams, and meet business and regulatory goals.
Participate in the team’s weekly on-call rotation, helping ensure the reliability and timely support of the systems we build
Document systems, processes and procedures for transparency and knowledge sharing.
