Our modern logistics and fulfillment engine helps businesses to build and scale high-quality, personalized direct mail programs without the operational burden. As we grow to meet the evolving needs of our customers and expand our product offerings, we’re building a team to shape the future of direct mail.
Corporate Counsel
We are seeking an experienced, business-minded Corporate Counsel to join our legal team. This role is designed for a dynamic, high-impact attorney who can hit the ground running and serve as a trusted advisor to key business units such as Revenue (Sales/Customer Success), Product, Engineering, and Partner Operations.
As Corporate Counsel, you’ll…
- Lead the end-to-end drafting, review, and negotiation of complex commercial agreements - including enterprise SaaS, strategic partnerships, and vendor contracts.
- Advise Product and Engineering teams throughout the entire product development lifecycle, navigating regulatory, intellectual property, and contractual frameworks to support go-to-market launches.
- Significantly contribute to our data privacy strategy by translating complex privacy frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) into actionable operational practices, conducting impact assessments, and leading the negotiation of data processing agreements.
- Oversee corporate compliance programs, establish internal policies and targeted training initiatives, and execute strategic vendor audits to embed regulatory and contractual standards into our operations and third-party ecosystems.
- Drive operational excellence by engineering scalable legal workflows, automated self-service templates, and cross-functional playbooks that remove friction and accelerate execution.
- Partner with the General Counsel, providing flexible support on special projects, ad-hoc legal matters, and broader strategic initiatives required to operate and scale Lob.
What will you bring to this role…
- 5-7+ years of relevant legal experience, with a strong preference for in-house experience.
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with at least one state bar.
- Familiar with the range of legal risks and business issues that come up in an enterprise SaaS environment.
- Proven ability to manage a high volume of work autonomously, translate complex legal concepts into practical business advice, and make quick, risk-adjusted decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience advising People/HR teams on employment lifecycle matters and managing corporate litigation or pre-litigation dispute resolution alongside outside counsel.
- Experience counseling businesses where SaaS platforms connect with physical products.
- Experience supporting supply chain operations, including logistics and shipping.
- Experience managing capitalization tables and administering employee equity programs using equity management platforms such as Carta.
