About the Team
The Dasher & Logistics team supports the millions of Dashers who power DoorDash's marketplace. Dasher Financial is our bet that the financial system serving gig workers should be built by the platform they already work on. From instant access to earnings, to bill pay and savings, to credit-building tools, our goal is to become the financial home for Dashers. Our banking product serves 2M+ monthly active Dashers, and the business has more than doubled in the past year.
About the Role
We're looking for a Senior Manager to run our banking business, and to grow into the GM of it. This is a business already at scale: millions of users, it generates real revenue, and it runs on a regulated program with a sponsor bank and processor partners. But the business is also early enough that the decisions you make will help determine what this becomes.
The first twelve months are about making the business stronger on every axis at once: growing the user base and the revenue levers that already work, taking down the cost to serve, and pulling more of the banking operation under our own control. These three pull against each other, and deciding how to trade them off against the P&L is the job.
You'll also be the face of this business outside the company. Our processor, program manager, and sponsor bank determine what we can build, how fast, and at what cost. You'll own those relationships, hold partners to what they committed to, and sit at the table when we negotiate the next set of terms. This is a commercial role as much as an operational one.
And you'll lead the team that runs it, hiring and developing operators who own their surfaces while staying hands-on yourself. At this stage the person running the business is still personally in the data, in the partner rooms, and in the details of how the machine actually works.
You will:
- Own the P&L - user growth, revenue per user, and cost to serve
- Build the operating model for a regulated financial product: service levels, vendor accountability, escalation paths, and the controls that keep the program healthy
- Own our external partnerships end to end and represent the business in negotiations
- Find the next revenue levers in a business that already has scale, and make the case for what we should invest in
- Develop and lead a team of operators, and build the bench that lets the business grow faster than headcount
- Represent the business to DoorDash leadership as its owner
This seat is where that bet becomes a real business: a P&L you own, partners you negotiate with, and an operation you get to build. For someone who wants to run a company one day, it's the closest thing to doing it with a scaled platform behind you.
You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…
- Run a business: own the P&L for a banking product millions of Dashers already use
- Build the machine: design the operating model for a regulated financial product, and decide what we bring in-house, what we rent, and in what order.
- Own external relationships: represent DoorDash with our sponsor bank and fintech partners
- Find the next lever: identify where the next tranche of growth and revenue comes from in a business that already has scale, and make the case for the investment.
- Lead people: develop operators who own their surfaces outright and build a team that grows the business faster than headcount
- Grow into the GM seat: do the full job - strategy, P&L, operations, partners, and people - in a business early enough that your decisions still set its direction
We’re excited about you because…
- You have 8+ years of experience, including time running something with real operational stakes - a business line, a large operational surface, or a P&L.
- You take a vague, consequential problem and structure it yourself.
- You use data to make decisions, but you’re also comfortable taking a stance before the data proves you right.
- You have commercial instincts. You've negotiated, or made a call where the economics mattered as much as the operations
- You take real ownership of outcomes - you make the calls and are accountable for how they turn out, not just for supporting the work. And you’ve delivered when the odds were against you
We expect this position to be filled by 10-12-2026
