We’re financing the future of energy
Crux is the capital platform for the clean economy. We modernize capital raising and deployment for clean energy and critical infrastructure with solutions across advisory, investments, technology, and intelligence.
Our team of 120+ is composed of experts in energy, tax, finance, government, and technology. We have raised $77 million in capital from some of the best investors, including Andreessen Horowitz, Lowercarbon Capital, New System Ventures, Overture, Ardent Venture Partners, QED, Canapi, and others. These funds are joined by strategic investors including Pattern Energy, Clearway Energy, EDF Renewables, Intersect Power, LS Power, Orsted, Hartree Partners, Liberty Mutual Strategic Ventures, MassMutual Ventures, and OMERS Ventures.
An inflection point in American energy and manufacturing
Energy demand is growing for the first time in decades, driving an urgent need for more affordable and reliable electricity. More electricity requires new clean energy infrastructure and strong domestic supply chains for minerals and components — as well as large amounts of capital.
Traditional project financing is opaque, fragmented, and analog. At Crux, we’re changing that. Through unmatched insights and expertise, white-glove service, purpose-built tools, and risk underwriting, we power a more prosperous, clean, and secure energy future.
We are scaling quickly and looking for team members who are eager to combine deep expertise with an AI- and tech-forward mindset.
The Opportunity
We're hiring a Senior Manager, Strategic Bank Capital — a commercial team member who will help build and manage Crux's relationships with bank capital providers, supporting coverage, pipeline development, and capital formation across debt, preferred equity, tax equity, and structured products. This person will work closely with the Head of Strategic Bank Capital to expand bank participation across the platform, growing into day-to-day ownership of a set of bank relationships over time.
Strategic Bank Capital is Crux's coverage function for bank capital providers, including investor desks, treasury and principal investing groups, bank-sponsored funds and platforms, and warehouse and forward-flow counterparties. The team owns Crux's bank partnerships end to end, shaping demand early in the transaction lifecycle and working hand in hand with product teams across Capital Solutions. This role will help keep each bank relationship organized, responsive, and moving forward — from first engagement through execution and repeat deployment.
What you'll do
Bank Coverage & Capital Formation
Support coverage of Crux's bank counterparties — including investor desks, treasury and principal investing groups, bank-sponsored funds, and warehouse and forward-flow providers.
Partner with the Head of Strategic Bank Capital to help execute Crux's bank coverage strategy and advance priority capital initiatives.
Develop a working understanding of each bank's mandate, appetite, and return thresholds, and help translate it into actionable opportunities across Crux's transaction flow.
Maintain the bank coverage model and target list, mapping bank demand to Crux's capital solutions.
Relationship Management & Pipeline
Serve as a day-to-day contact for assigned bank relationships, taking on greater ownership as the role grows.
Prepare for bank meetings — including research, briefing materials, and follow-ups — to keep engagements moving from first conversation to committed capital.
Own the accuracy of the bank pipeline in Crux's CRM and produce regular pipeline and forecasting updates for the team and leadership.
Help maintain relationship continuity as opportunities move from origination to execution, supporting repeat deployment.
Cross-Platform Commercial Support
Coordinate with Investments, Debt Capital Markets, Tax Credit Markets, and Structuring & Pricing on bank information requests, diligence, and timelines.
Draft bank-facing materials, including tailored decks, one-pagers, and investor updates.
Track bank appetite, pricing, and capacity trends, and share market feedback to inform product development and capital strategy.
Partner with Industry Coverage and Corporate Investor Coverage on account assignments, escalating shared-account questions as needed.
Franchise Building
Represent Crux at bank capital conferences and industry events alongside senior team members, and help organize Crux-hosted events.
Identify prospective bank relationships and new capital channels to expand Crux's bank network.
Support the growth of the Strategic Bank Capital team as the organization scales.
What you bring
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Accounting, Business, or a related field; MBA, CFA, or other advanced degree a plus.
5+ years of experience in capital markets, bank coverage, capital formation, project finance, structured finance, or related disciplines, ideally within renewable energy or infrastructure.
Experience at a commercial or investment bank (tax equity, project finance, structured finance, or debt capital markets), an advisory or placement firm, or an institutional investor covering banks.
Experience supporting capital raising or managing relationships with bank counterparties or institutional investors.
Exposure to one or more of the following: tax equity, transferable tax credits, preferred equity, construction or term debt, warehouse or forward-flow facilities, or structured products.
Working fluency in risk, structure, and return drivers, with the ability to engage credibly with bank partners without owning transaction execution.
Highly organized, with a disciplined approach to pipeline management, forecasting, and CRM hygiene.
Clear, concise written and verbal communication, with comfort engaging directly with bank counterparties.
Comfort working independently in a fast-moving, high-growth environment while collaborating closely with deal, product, and leadership teams.
Existing relationships with bank investor desks, treasury, or principal investing groups a plus.
Interest in leveraging technology, AI, and data to modernize bank capital formation.
Familiarity with U.S. Broker-Dealer and Registered Investment Adviser regulatory frameworks a plus.
FINRA SIE, Series 7, and Series 63 required or willingness to obtain under Crux's broker-dealer sponsorship.
