Monk is an AI-native accounts receivable (AR) platform for B2B companies helping businesses get paid fast.

The AR stack is broken. Finance teams still chase payments with spreadsheets, reconcile AR in spreadsheets and use software that was built a decade ago. We think this is one of the largest, most ignored problems in B2B software. Trillions of dollars sit in outstanding invoices and the tools to unlock cashflow are stuck in the past. We are rebuilding Monk with AI, speed, and real craftsmanship.

The role:

Own Monk's talent engine end-to-end: how we find, evaluate, close, and onboard the exceptional people who will build the company.

You will partner directly with founders and hiring managers to turn company priorities into hires. This is a generalist role with an immediate focus on engineering and GTM: finding exceptional builders while building the systems, candidate experience, and hiring culture that let Monk scale.

This is one of Monk’s most important functions. The people you bring in will determine what we can build, how fast we move, and whether we win.

In this role you will:

• Own full-cycle recruiting across Monk: role intake, sourcing, outreach, assessment, coordination, and onboarding. Engineering is the immediate priority; over time, you will hire across product, GTM, operations, and leadership.

• Build exceptional engineering pipelines: Map target companies, technical communities, and emerging talent; find people others miss; run thoughtful outbound; and earn responses from high-agency technical candidates who have many options.

• Partner with founders and hiring managers on every search: Sharpen the profile, calibrate the bar, design the process, bring market intelligence and candidate signals to decisions, surface tradeoffs early, and keep the team moving with urgency.

• Build Monk’s recruiting operating system: interview loops, scorecards, sourcing workflows, candidate data, referrals, agency relationships, and funnel reporting. Make the system faster and more rigorous with every hire.

• Create a candidate experience that reflects Monk: Tell a compelling, honest story about the work and team; run a high-signal process; and make every candidate leave respecting the company.

• Automate more of your role: Use AI, automation, and great tooling to create more leverage, spend your time on the work that matters, and help Monk hire the best people faster.

Who you are:

• 4+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, including technical hiring for high-growth startups or similarly demanding environments.

• A demonstrable track record of sourcing exceptional engineers. You understand how strong builders evaluate a company and can earn their attention.

• Experience building or materially improving recruiting processes, systems, and data. You are comfortable owning an ATS and using funnel data to find and fix bottlenecks.

• Exceptional judgment. You can distinguish signal from polish, hold a high bar, and give founders and hiring managers clear, direct advice.

• AI-native. You use AI and automation daily to research, source, personalize, and operate at higher leverage.

• An owner. You don't wait for perfect requirements or file tickets. You find the constraint, fix it, and make sure it doesn't happen again.

• Excited to build in person in Flatiron, NYC.

Bonus if you:

• have been a founding or early recruiting hire at an exceptional startup.

• have recruited engineers for developer tools, AI, fintech, infrastructure, or other technical products.

• have built a talent brand, community, or recruiting-event motion that helped a company win hard-to-reach candidates.

• Insulated from labs. This workflow is complex, too many integrations are required and the last mile in AR is too bespoke for general purpose models

• Hard problem worth solving. Revenue intelligence is challenging and inherently unsexy. Frankly, there are fewer strong companies in our space and we are building the most talent-dense team
