Wolfjaw Studios offers a comprehensive array of proprietary tech combined with best-in-class development, production, and engineering expertise, and architectural innovation to deliver fully customized, mission critical backend systems and solutions for many of the most popular multiplayer game franchises in the world. The company’s unblemished track record of zero failed launches stands alone in the video game industry, across more than 600 million unique players and peak CCUs of >30 million (and growing).
Wolfjaw’s 70-strong, diverse team of engineers and producers boasts more than half a millennium of collective experience across virtually every major studio on the planet. Together, we've supported titles such as NBA2K (‘21-present), Among Us, Destiny 2, WWE2K, Apex Legends, and dozens of other hit games.
The Business Development team at Wolfjaw Studios is how those relationships begin. We identify studios, publishers, and media companies facing real scaling challenges, start thoughtful conversations with them, and tell the story of the work we've already delivered.
As a Business Development Associate, you will split your time between business development (about 75%) and team support (about 25%). On the business development side, you'll research prospective clients, judge whether they're a genuine fit, find timely reasons to reach out, and draft personalized outreach for review. On the support side, you'll capture meeting notes and turn our engineers' project notes into polished client case studies. You'll work closely with leadership and our engineering team, and you'll learn how a technical services business wins and keeps clients.
What We Are Looking For
Business development (about 75%)
Researching prospective clients across games and media, including their products, recent news, technical challenges, and who makes decisions about backend and infrastructure work.
Evaluating whether each prospect is a genuine fit for Wolfjaw's services, and documenting your reasoning so the team can see why a company was pursued or set aside.
Finding recent, verifiable reasons to reach out, such as a launch, a scaling milestone, or a platform change, and confirming them against primary sources.
Drafting personalized cold emails and follow-ups that are reviewed before sending, and keeping our outreach tracker and CRM accurate and up to date.
Identifying and verifying the right contact at each company, and flagging anything that is uncertain rather than guessing.
Team support (about 25%)
Capturing clear, organized notes during client and internal meetings, and sharing action items afterward.
Researching and writing client case studies by turning engineering and project notes into polished stories that follow our established format.
Supporting leadership with research, document preparation, and other day-to-day business needs as they come up.
Qualifications
Strong writing skills, with the ability to write concise, personalized, professional emails and longer-form pieces such as case studies.
Strong research skills, including finding information online, judging whether a source is reliable, and summarizing what matters.
Exceptional attention to detail and organization, with the ability to manage many prospects and tasks at once without losing track.
Comfort learning technical concepts well enough to explain them clearly to others. You don't need to be an engineer, but you'll need to talk credibly about backend systems and scale.
Due to the need for all Wolfjaw employees to communicate regularly and effectively with their co-workers, teams at our partner studios and publishers, and other third parties, we require written and oral proficiency in the English language.
Pluses
A passion for and an understanding of the gaming industry.
Prior experience in sales, business development, marketing, recruiting, or another outreach-focused role, including internships.
Familiarity with CRM and prospecting tools such as HubSpot or Apollo, and comfort working in Google Workspace (Gmail, Sheets, Docs).
Experience writing for an audience, such as marketing copy, journalism, blog posts, or technical documentation.
Experience working in both a startup-like environment and at a larger company.
Exhibits learning agility; can think differently, and/or grasp and apply new skills and concepts.
Approaches problems in a clear, well-organized, and solutions-oriented manner.
The ideal candidate will be a curious and enthusiastic self-starter who is interested in how games are built and run at scale! You should be willing to put in the time to dig into a company or a topic on your own, but at the same time not afraid to consult the rest of the team for help when you need it.
Benefits
Fully remote availability.
Competitive salary and benefits.
Friendly and supportive colleagues and managers.
Opportunity to make key technical decisions which help define the future of product and infrastructure development.
The chance to apply your existing knowledge while gaining experience with cutting edge technology and methodologies.
