Career Opportunity: Organ Preservationist in the Tri- State of Kentucky and Surrounding Regions

 

Are you looking for an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on organ donation by bringing your surgical expertise to a role where precision, purpose, and teamwork come together? As an Organ Preservationist, you will evaluate potential donors, coordinate clinical care, and help maximize opportunities for successful donation through the recovery, preservation, and perfusion of organs and tissues for transplantation or research. This role is ideal for an experienced healthcare professional who thrives in fast-paced, sensitive, and highly collaborative environments.

 

As an Organ Preservationist, you will perform aseptic organ preservation and kidney perfusion, support operating room preparation, maintain preservation supplies and equipment, and build strong relationships with hospital OR teams through education and collaboration. You will help ensure every recovery is handled safely, accurately, and in accordance with applicable policies, regulatory standards, and manufacturer guidelines. This position reports to the Manager of Surgical Services.

Schedule & Work Environment:

This role includes significant on-call responsibility, including the ability to work 24-hour on-call shifts, respond promptly to dispatches, and travel throughout the designated service area. Work is performed in hospital clinical areas. The position requires the ability to lift up to 75 pounds and assist with donor transfers.
