The FirstSteps Team is inspired by the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to achieve their fullest potential. To that end, our mission is twofold: to provide the best evidence-based, behavior analytic treatment to our children diagnosed with autism and related learning differences, and to offer a positive, collaborative, and dynamic work experience for our team. Love coaching, encouraging, and helping young kids build new skills? We want to meet with you to discuss our Behavior Technician role!
At FirstSteps, you’ll work one-on-one with children ages 2–13 with autism, using your creativity, patience, and ability to motivate kids to help them build communication, play, social, and everyday life skills. No ABA experience required. We’ll teach you the clinical skills, pay for your RBT certification, and support your growth every step of the way.

Our Instructor Development & Engagement Program gives you a clear path to grow. Complete an Instructor Development Bundle plus 350 hours of direct clinical experience to earn a $1/hr raise that matches your new skillset. Your Experience Could Be a Great Fit
Have experience as a youth sports coach, camp counselor, recreation leader, or youth program instructor? Your ability to engage kids, adapt on the fly, build confidence, and celebrate progress is a great foundation for this role.

Health & Safety Requirements
- Childhood vaccinations (MMR and Varicella) and a non-reactive TB test
- Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and auto insurance
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, sit on floors or child-sized furniture, and move quickly from a seated position to a running stance
