Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Data Analytics professional with content and curriculum design experience to serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for our Data Analytics Bootcamp. This SME will partner with Springboard’s learning team to review and update our curriculum and develop net-new learning content to ensure our program reflects current industry expectations for entry-level data analytics roles.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Review & Alignment
- Review content across Excel, statistics, financial analysis, visualization, reporting, SQL, Python, and advanced analytics modules for accuracy, relevance, and appropriate depth/breadth to prepare learners for entry-level data analytics roles.
- Recommend curriculum and content updates based on current analyst responsibilities, modern BI/data tools, and AI-assisted data analytics practices.
- Help distinguish foundational skills from advanced or more specialized topics and align outcomes with entry-level and early-career analyst expectations.
- Develop content where needed – this may include writing original content, and using AI to develop new learning aids or resources (videos, PDFs, infographics, etc.)
AI in Data Analytics
- Develop and review content that teaches how to use AI as a workflow accelerator while preserving analytical reasoning and human judgment.
- Create explainers (videos, infographics, PDFs) for using AI to troubleshoot formulas, support step-by-step analysis, draft summaries and chart explanations, and explore visualization approaches.
- Teach responsible AI use: validating outputs, identifying unsupported conclusions, protecting sensitive data, and maintaining human accountability.
- Design AI-enabled exercises that reinforce, rather than bypass, core analytics skills.
Content Development & Quality Assurance
- Write or revise lessons, exercises, projects, case studies, quizzes, and assessments using realistic business scenarios and datasets.
- Review spreadsheet activities, SQL queries, Python scripts, visualizations, and AI-assisted workflows for technical accuracy and pedagogical effectiveness.
- Develop practical reporting activities that help learners interpret KPIs and communicate insights clearly to operational and non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in data analytics or business analytics ideally within a large, Fortune 1000 organization.
- Experience teaching data analytics and developing data analytics explainer content and/or curricula is a role requirement.
- Experience using AI to develop content (videos, infographics, text and more).
- Responsibility for hiring early-career data analytics talent is a strong plus.
- Strong command of SQL, Python, Microsoft Excel, and visualization tools such as Tableau.
- Strong understanding of statistics, financial analysis, reporting, visualization, and structured analytical problem-solving.
- Hands-on familiarity with generative AI tools and their practical use in analytics workflows, including evaluation of AI-generated outputs for correctness and limitations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical or beginner audiences.
