Revenue Accounting Manager
About the team:
We are seeking an experienced Revenue Accounting Manager to join our global Revenue Accounting team. This high-visibility individual contributor role is part of the team that owns the end-to-end revenue recognition lifecycle for a public, multi-entity SaaS business.
The successful candidate pairs deep technical command of ASC 606 with strong revenue operations instincts. They are equally comfortable writing a position memo on a non-standard, multi-element arrangement, troubleshooting a revenue arrangement in NetSuite ARM, and partnering with operations on new product introduction (NPI) and UAT for revenue systems. They bring an AI-driven mindset: proactively identifying ways to apply AI and automation to revenue accounting workflows, testing outputs for accuracy, and adopting new tools as the team's capabilities evolve. This role would report into our Palo Alto HQ 3x per week.
Where you can make an impact:
- Execute monthly accounting activities in NetSuite, including journal entries and account reconciliations, and deliver close-related items on schedule.
- Prepare supporting schedules and flux analysis to explain period-over-period revenue and deferred revenue movements.
- Prepare deal and contract summaries for significant transactions in accordance with ASC 606.
- Assist with operationalizing new sales models, ensuring revenue accounting implications are addressed ahead of launch.
- Responsible for Standalone Selling Price (SSP) compliance.
- Responsible for the NPI process for revenue.
- Execute SOX controls over revenue.
- Respond to ad hoc data and analysis requests from cross-functional partners.
- Support revenue accounting and order-to-cash projects.
- Assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and post-launch validation to ensure seamless implementation of new products and services.
- Identify and implement AI and automation opportunities and continuously refine revenue accounting processes and procedures.
Ideal background:
- Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Finance or Accounting preferred; CPA / CA required.
- 7+ years of combined experience in public accounting and corporate revenue accounting.
- Hands-on ASC 606 expertise on complex, non-standard deals; strong understanding of revenue operations and the quote-to-revenue process.
- NetSuite experience required (ARM module preferred); advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with Salesforce (SFDC) and Tableau a plus.
- Experience manipulating large data sets to uncover trends and make recommendations.
- Proven experience executing the revenue close, reconciliations, flux analysis and SOX controls.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail, accuracy, and clear verbal and written communication.
- Self-starter and team player who thrives in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
