- Security Officer for Large Corporate Property
Job Description:
As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for safeguarding properties, deterring criminal activity, and ensuring the safety of businesses, construction sites, and residential communities, etc.
Your role requires vigilance, strong decision-making, and excellent communication skills to handle security incidents effectively. This site may experience occasional interaction with unhoused individuals who pass through or attempt to use facility amenities. Officers responsible for completing hourly tours and hourly activity logs. It's a large property, which requires a lot of walking. Officers complete hourly patrol tours and hourly activity logs, covering the full site each hour. This is a union site, so officers must follow all union requirements.
Shifts:
Saturday - - - 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Sunday - - - 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
**16 Hrs Per Week*
+ Opportunity for additional shifts
Compensation:
$21.00 per hour
Security Guard Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine patrols to monitor and secure designated locations.
- Identify and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, and unauthorized access.
- Maintain a visible presence to deter criminal activity and ensure public safety.
- Respond swiftly to incidents and provide support in emergency situations.
- Document daily activity, incidents, and observations accurately in reports.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding security updates and concerns.
Security Guard Qualifications:
- Valid BSIS Guard Card (required).
- Current with BSIS Compliance
- i.e: 8-Hour Initial Training Certificate
- 32-hour continuing education certificates.
- Strong customer service skills and professional demeanor.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to remain alert, responsive, and proactive in high-pressure situations.
